Spanish Bank Account
Opening a bank account in Spain is easy. If you own a property in Spain a Spanish bank account is essential to make your mortgage payments and pay bills by direct debit. You will also be given a debit card which you can use when shopping accompanied by a form of photographic idea, usually your passport or driving license if you are not resident. When shopping, you can use your UK debit and credit cards, again with ID and you will be subject to the exchange rate.
We recommend that you take the following documents with you when opening an account and whilst on your visit to Spain we can accompany you to open a bank account:
Passport. ?xml:namespace>Certificate of residence if you hold Spanish residency.Non residents are obliged to complete a "Non Residence Declaration" form which is available in our branches.Copy of your NIE2 Documents with your current address ie bank statement, driving licence, recent utility bills etc
